Josephine Kearns joined the COT team in 2024, having previously served as Production Manager at Chicago’s TimeLine Theatre in addition to many years as an AEA Stage Manager. Her first backstage gig came in fifth grade, when she failed to get cast in her school musical and offered to assist the director instead, essentially inventing the role of an SM.

In addition to her backstage work, Josie also develops new work on artistic teams as a Dramaturg and Gender Consultant across the US and Canada. Her credits include work at MCC, Delaware Theatre Company, Fifth Ave. Theatre, Royal Manitoba Theatre, several pre-Broadway development projects, and most recently the Perelman Center NY’s debut musical, Cats: The Jellicle Ball.
